Muara Port is Brunei's only deep-water port and a major hub for international trade. 90% of Brunei's imports and exports, excluding oil and gas resources, pass through this port. With the upgrading of the Port's infrastructure and increasing its efficiency, Brunei is committed to making Muara an international port and a new economic growth point. In order to increase the container capacity of Muara Port and transform Muara Port into a shipping and transit hub in the region, and in order to achieve the goal of providing better service to customers at lower logistics costs, Muara Port Company has decided to expand the existing container terminal. The proposed extension wharf shoreline length is about 250 meters, covering an area of about 180,000 square meters.
