There is a significant risk of ground collapse in the goaf of a certain mine in Hami, and geophysical personnel would face personal safety risks if ground exploration methods are utilized.

In order to quickly determine the location, distribution range, downward subsidence characteristics and other conditions of the goaf collapse area within a depth of 200m underground, and provide technical support for safe production in the mine, the geophysical exploration team has used the WUKONG DTEM drone airborne transient electromagnetic system to carry out geophysical exploration in five collapse areas and their peripheral deformation zones.

The geophysical survey lines were arranged perpendicular to the direction of the rock mass and the trend of the collapse area. A total of 30 drone airborne transient electromagnetic profiles were designed with a line spacing of 25m and variable profile lengths ranging from 280m to 160m. The total length of the survey lines was 6km. This exploration overcame the impact of strong winds in Hami and was completed in only 2 days, from the arrival at the site to the completion of the survey and the withdrawal of equipment.
